Metallic embroidery threads - メタリック刺繍糸
A large range of metallic embroidery threads is available, featuring specialized constructions such as gimp, spaced gimp, supported and twisted, designed for any kind of industrial embroidery machine. These threads primarily use polyester and nylon, but not only, with modern, eco-friendly options including recycled polyester (such as post-consumer PET bottles) and green, formaldehyde-free formulations.

- Recycled Polyester: Sustainable options such as our item "SP Green", supported thread, made with Polyester from 100% GRS-certified recycled post-consumer PET bottles, providing a shiny, robust solution.
Key Types of Metallic Threads
- Gimp (Metallic Gimp): the traditional embroidery thread with a Nylon core wrapped smoothly with flat metallic yarn for a round, consistent finish.
- Spaced Gimp (Luxury Spaced Gimp): Features metallic wrapping that does not fully cover the inner core (e.g., black spun viscose), allowing the core to show through, providing a distinct textured, round finish.
- Supported: A metallic thread supported by a stronger but soft touch fiber as Textured Polyester to ensure durability, especially for high-speed machine embroidery.
- Twisted: Threads consisting of two or more strands twisted together: one of flat metallic and the other(s) of Textured Polyester for a super sparkling effect and a good tenacity. The final result is similar to the single flat metallic but much stronger and smoother in the embroidery process.

Uniset presents GFC No. 40, a new Green sustainable metallic thread that, thanks to the Polyester metallised film dyeable in disperse dyeing colours, is

FILOSTAR is an embroidery thread obtained with 1 ply of flat high gloss metallic yarn supported by 2 plies of soft Textured Polyester.
Soft touch skin-friendly, strong, metal look, combining the strength and high fastness to washing/chlorine, sweat of polyester with the sheen of metallic yarn: from light lingerie (produced with schiffli machines) to any kind of apparel adding special, glamorous highlights to logos, lettering and intricate designs.
The incredible low friction and high smoothness of FILOSTAR passing through the needle at any speed will make your machine stopping only to replace the bobbin thread.
